This sunday was such a beautiful day! We went to church then just sat on the front lawn and soaked up the sun and enjoyed the fresh air. Then we decided to go on a little hike with the tiny man. There's a network of trails only about 5 minutes from our house and there's a short one called the Pretzel Tree Trail, it's a super short easy trail with little plaques along the way about a field mouse who meets all the animals of the forest. Andy likes reading them and doing all the animals voices. Kade liked hiking in the backpack with mommy and hearing dad and mom's silly animal voices.
Kade was having such fun that we could have hiked a little longer but daddy's foot is still very tender from the fracture (see previous post about andy's bad day). So we just did the one short trail with Andy limping along. :)

Kade's first Easter
He thinks easter is great fun!
Easter Bunny Kade with his Grami ready for church
After church We came home and put the finishing touches on our contributions to Easter dinner and we went to my Aunt Brooke's for dinner. It was a delicious meal and great company. Andy really likes to go over to their house and play with my cousins, they do lots of rough stuff, like play kickball, which andy never gets enough of. Riley brought a Xbox game called WWE smackdown and he was kicking all the boys butts. Andy was getting really frustrated that riley was laying the smack down and he couldn't even figure out how to play. haha. All the boys thought it was so funny that Riley was dominating them. My parents stayed till monday afternoon and we went shopping for some after eater clearance. It was a nice visit. I wish they could come more often. :)
This was the blackberry lemon cheesecake I made for dessert. I was VERY nervous. Baking is not one of my talents and cheesecakes are a little tricky. I even had my first experience using a spring form pan! but it turned out as delicious as it is pretty. I was pretty proud of myself :)
We've been banished to the family section.
This last friday night we decided to use some Applebee's gift cards that Andy had gotten for work. I got all ready and got Kade all ready in his cute little Oshkosh overalls, but then Andy had to stay two hours late at work cause 'The man' has a tight grip. By the time Daddy got home it was getting close to Kades bed time so it all started on the wrong foot. When we got to the restuarant we got sat in the Family section. We asked the Waitress if there was really such a thing and she denied it. But every single family within five tables of us had a high chair or a baby carrier? suspicious? Also I noticed that we were right under the speakers, perhaps to drown out cries? Kade started throwing a big fuss about the time our food arrived and would not be consoled, I bounced him while Andy wolfed down his food then andy went out to the parking lot to calm him down. I sat there by myself and picked at my food and waited for the bill. It was a sad ending to our date night :( However the table right next to us had the exact same experience because it was apparently their babies bed time too. The mom took the baby out so I sat there and chatted with the gentlemen about how much fun babies can be (sarcasm). Kade is not a fan of being late for his bed time. Lesson learned. :)
Such a little goof ball, he plays like he's shy but he's really just lovin the attention.
Andy's Bad Day
I am just starting blogging and I feel like there's so much back story to write that I'm just going to jump right in and you'll just have to fill in the details of our lives as we go along.
Yesterday was my second day back at work and Andy was home with Kade. Andy's brother was also in town so they were fixing to have a good "boys day." But tragedy struck Andy before I'd even left the house in the morning. When he started it up, his X-box showed the dreaded red ring of death, from which it is rumored that there is no return. So as I left, him and david were looking up how to attempt to fix it, while Kade played happily.
The scene I returned home to nine hours later looks like it was straight out of a National Lampoons movie. I pull up the driveway and see Andy standing in the yard with Kade who is screaming his head off, while andy's chasing the cat who is trying to bring something dead in the house. Andy's mysteriously bleeding from multiple places and four of ten fingers are covered in Lightening Mcqueen band-aids, and he's limping around on a foot that appears to be broken. I walk in the house which is completely distroyed and faintly smells of burning Xbox. Every cupboard is open with the contents pulled all over the house...
I turn to Andy and ask what I think is a reasonable question, "honey what happened here today?" .... to which he replies, in all seriousness "we had a bad day." LOL! The understatement of that sentence was just to much, I couldn't stop laughing. I wish I had an explanation for all the events, and blood, and charred technology. But I guess I'll never know, I suppose all the explanation that is really needed is it started as a boys day and ended "a bad day" :)
